24.05.10 - Basingstoke Fitness Classes – Shape up for Summer
Fitness is important to us at our Basingstoke fitness and Martial Arts centre. Summertime is nearly here and it’s a great time to get fit and shape up ready for the hot summer ahead.
We are launching a number of brand new classes to allow people to do just that. In addition to our Martial Arts classes we are also providing some specialist fitness classes, these are:
Pilates
Come and practice Pilates with us in Basingstoke. Pilates is an exercise method, designed to elongate, strengthen and restore the body to balance. Based upon an anatomical understanding of the body's muscular and skeletal systems, our Pilates teacher goes through a comprehensive exercise programme for the participants. Classes will focus on specific areas individually whilst using exercises that integrate the whole body to re-educate and restore it to optimum muscular and skeletal function.
It is this holistic approach that sets Pilates apart from many other forms of exercise. Osteopaths, physiotherapists and general practitioners recommend Pilates as one of the safest forms of exercise today. Pilates can be beneficial for just about everyone, regardless of age and fitness level.
BodyCombat
Bodycombat is a full body workout, taught by a Basingstoke Black belt and professional Martial Arts teacher, you won’t find a better place in Basingstoke to learn Les Mills BTS Bodycombat.
Each class typically breaks down into ten routines, beginning with an upper body warm-up that may teach jabs, uppercuts and hooks; the warm-up session also commonly includes a lower body warm-up as well that focuses on various kicks. Once students are warmed up, the session intensifies and may include combinations of punches and kicks, which help tone and shape key muscle groups, enhancing core strength and stability. As the exercise ramps up, the cardio workout burns calories at a rapid rate, which is generally recognized as beneficial to cardiovascular health and lung capacity. The cool-down section utilizes elements from Tai-Chi, using gentle flowing movements to stretch hard-worked muscles and relax the body and mind.
Circuits class
Circuit training is an efficient and challenging form of conditioning. It works well for developing strength, endurance (both aerobic and anaerobic), flexibility and coordination.
Our Basingstoke class focuses on circuit training using a range of fitness equipment and also uses Martial Arts conditioning exercises as used by some of the fittest athletes in the world. Circuit training this way is one of the best methods of exercising as it provides excellent all round fitness, tone, strength, and a reduction in weight and inches. In short, maximum results in minimum time.
