Classes just for beginners, classes just for senior grades

"I love Karate, it is hard work, but good fun"

The classes in our Basingstoke Academy are split by age any by ability. Students learn techniques at a level that is suitable for them, rather than the whole class having to work at a common pace.

Pre-School Children's Classes

Youngsters between 3 and 4 years old will enhance vital skills that they are currently developing at this age, including gross motor skills, personal behaviour and character. We have a curriculum that supports the development of these attributes and helps them to improve these skills through a number of age specific games, exercises and activities.

Tiny Dragons ClassesYour child will use our Martial Arts training to develop these skills whilst also reinforcing good discipline, manners and confidently maintaining a positive attitude. The Martial Arts training itself is focussed on building strong foundations for their future development, both physically and emotionally.

Most Martial Arts clubs will only teach your child to Kick and Punch. In our Karate classes in Basingstoke, we teach them Martial skills, very effective ones, some of which are very useful to everyday life outside of our Academy, like learning to fall safely. However we also teach a lot more to the children. Every class reinforces the message of courtesy to all, it builds on teamworking skills, both as a leader and also as a team-member.

Pre-schoolers have an entire curriculum designed and devoted specifically for them. They are not expected to do the same as the older children, but what they do, does lay the foundation work to give them a head start when they move into the older groups. They even have their own special uniforms and belt system, so they will have all the thrills and sense of achievement of being awarded a new belt even at this age.
