Combat Ju Jitsu is the practice of traditional Ju Jitsu techniques used in a competitive environment within a proscribed rule format. Participants wear a Judo-Gi (Martial Arts uniform) to practice in and this make a good introduction to anyone wanting an introduction to Mixed Martial Arts.
The difference between MMA and Combat Ju Jitsu is slight and is mainly based around changes in rule set. Both teach you how to apply a wide range of techniques including stand up fighting with various strikes using fists, open hands, elbows, forearms and leg techniques using feet, knees and shins. Along with the necessary blocks against these techniques. We then come into close range working for standing locks , take downs or throws., prior to taking someone to ground if necessary to submit them.
As you progress in skill within Combat Ju Jitsu, you will learn how to put individual techniques together in a sequence or combination to learn to make them flow whilst being put under pressure by an opponent.
If you are interested in competing and you don’t have to, we regularly enter teams to Combat Ju Jitsu tournaments and they have had some good successes at national level. Our highly experienced Ju Jitsu coaches will help you to develop your skills and knowledge in which ever areas of Combat Ju Jitsu that you are interested in.
